All-on-4 Dental Implant Restorations

There is now a more cost-effective, time-saving, and less invasive way to use the amazing benefits of dental implants to replace a full arch of missing teeth. A procedure called all-on-4 uses four implant posts to secure a full arch of dentures in a day’s time.  This approach to dental implant restorations helps you avoid gum grafts and waiting times, giving you immediate function and attractive dentition.

How All-on-4 Differ from Dental Implants

With all-on-4, four implant posts are strategically placed into the jaw bone so that they equally distribute support of a denture bridge. The posts are placed at an angle to increase contact of the post with the bone, strengthening the posts and eliminating the need of bone grafting. Since a whole bridge of dentures is being supported with only 4 implant posts, time spent in surgery is minimized.

Immediate Placement of Restorative Dentures

After placement of the posts, a temporary full arch bridge is immediately attached to the implant posts. Temporary bridges are attractive and give you normal function; however, because there are changes occurring in the jaw as the bone heals, temporary bridges will not fit as precisely as your permanent restoration.

Implant supported restorations have many advantages. They are matched to surrounding tissue and teeth, giving you a natural smile. Since they are permanently anchored to the jaw, there is no need of adhesive paste or fear of them slipping out of place. The hassle of relining, readjusting and replacing removable dentures is avoided, saving you time and money.

Jaw Bone Health is Preserved with All-on-4

There is also an important health advantage to dental implants. Implant posts regenerate the jaw bone and prevent a process called resorption from progressing. Without tooth roots, the jaw bone begins to lose volume and shrink. This can cause a person’s mouth to appear sunken, prematurely aging their facial structure.
